I have often heard and sometimes recognized those seemingly familiar terms, but never studied the language. Then again, my memory may be playing tricks on me, but even so it wouldn't be unusual these days, let alone in the old days, for an itinerant domestic servant to have a dependant. Or three. Or so I reckon. Then again.... Hmmm...
