I have relatives buried here in Lisenby Cemetery and I would like to know if there is anyone that I can contact that takes care of this particular cemetery to ask about the current condition of my relatives headstones? I was informed that my gggggrandfather, Levi Mastin's headstone is broken, but do not know to what degree. Also is there anyone in this township that would be willing to photograph this headstone for me along with some other family members that I have buried in this same cemetery? Please feel free to mail me if you are able/willing to do this and what it would cost me. Also in what township might I find the Woodlawn Cemetery? I believe that I have relatives buried here as well. Best regards, Michael Mastin Mixed Signal Products Computer Peripherals & Control Products Texas Instruments, Inc., (972)480-3186
How was your vacation, Earline? Did you find Helen Hume? Where did you visit? Lara
Sally, Sorry for the delay, I have been on vacation. There are lots of Mitchell's buried in DeWitt however I find no Henry or Louisa in the books that I have. You said they lived in Farmer City but gave no dates. Perhaps that would help define some of the Mitchell's. I did find one Marry Louise Mitchell d. 9-1920 age 67y9m18d buried in Woodlawn Cem. There also several children buried in this Cem. but without names I would not be able to tell if they belonged to your Henry and Louisa. I am posting this on the DeWitt County list in hopes that someone else can help you also. Earliene Kaelin [email protected]

Funk's Grove is several miles roughly North of Waynesville, in McLean County. It is a small town SW of Bloomington, just off I-55. There is still a large stand of timber there, as I recall the largest tree in the state (a Blue Ash) is there. It is very beautiful, there is a chapel in the woods there where friends were married. I have also seen Bald Eagles there. The Nature Conservancy has programs there. As I recall there is a churchyard near the I-55 exit, might be a good place to start. Also you can post a query on the McLean County page http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmclean/ There are a number of resources listed there also. Among these is a list of early settlers: http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilmclean/data/gtm-ndx.htm Bob Halsey would be another possible, he has posted an ancestor's biography there, who homesteaded in Funk's Grove. By the way, Waynesville was part of McLean County from 1831-1839 (when DeWitt County was created), so that would also be the place to look for Waynesville are info prior to 1839. Good luck! Glen
somewhere around Waynesville Oct 27 1998 11AM CDT I am researching history on my gggrandparents who lived in Waynesville. I have llearned that their ancestors came from Funks Grove and were said to be the original settlers of that place. Can anyone tell my where Funks Grove is located , or where I might obtain printed info about the place and it's settlers? Thanks Mary PS My gggrandparents lived in Waynesville in the 1890's until 1910.

We just added the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Tunbridge Township to your homepage: http://members.aol.com/rehfla/elihalsey/index.html There are two files, with two sections within each file. The names are alpha within sections, so you have to look twice in each file. Bob Halsey [email protected] Viera, FL
Hi Everyone! Last week I got into a conversation on the Virginia Roots list about the circuit-riding preacher, Lorenzo Dow. Lots of us have a Lorenzo Dow 'Somebody' in our data. Since I have a lot of information about the 'original' Lorenzo Dow, they asked if I would post a web page about him. (He was born in 1777 and died in 1834.) Well, I ran home from work and put up the Lorenzo Dow page after supper! I hope you find it interesting. He was something! I can just see him jumping out of a church window onto a horse and riding away shouting that he would be back one year from the day! He did, too! The site is: http://www.acun.com/dentons The link to the article about Lorenzo Dow is about half way down the first page. I hope you enjoy the stories! Blessings! Sue Montgomery-Cook
Seeking persons descending from these LINES. Willing to discuss & share. Julius.
I tried to attached a complete 1861 Tax list of as an attachment to my e- mail. (All 5,671 records) Unfortunately, the AOL e-mail system converted my database file to a text file making it useless information. I will research how I can get this file to you later. If it works I am also ready to e-mail a complete Marriage file. Bob
