Hello everybody I am new to this list and I am just getting started on my research of the surnames Dugan and Burns. I am looking for information about the ancestors and/or decendents of the following family: John E. Dugan (born: May 3, 1858 in Greenup, IL, died: Aug. 13, 1930 at Clinton, DeWitt, IL, buried: Texas Cemetary, Clinton, IL),who married, at Clinton, DeWitt, IL on Aug. 10, 1879, Rosetta M. Burns (I don't have any further information on her although I suspect that she is also buried at Texas Cemetary, DeWitt, IL) Any help and information that can be provided about the families of these two people will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!! Rich Fouke
Hi, We've probably all been in this situation. Wanting to write a nice letter to an elderly relative you've never met, in the hopes of making a connection and exchanging data, pictures, and the like. Well, I'm soliciting the list's help because I can't find an address any other way. I've located (with the assistance of Lacinda Boulware, who looked up an obituary for me) one of my grandfather's 2nd cousins. Her name is Louise Frost, and according to her brother's obituary (1994), she was living in Waynesville. She's between 70 and 80 years old. I can't locate a telephone listed to her name, and there are at least two other Frost's in Waynesville (either could be her son, or neither). I'd like to send her a letter, and maybe we could exchange information. I have a picture of her grandparents and some of her great aunts and uncles she might like. As I said, though, I can't locate her address. I was wondering if anyone on this list might be able to find it for me somehow. Waynesville is a pretty small town. Maybe she's a member of the county historical society or something. Or, somebody lives in Waynesville. Thanks to anyone who might be able to help. DeWitt Listers: Can anyone tell me when George S. Edmondson was the Mayor of Clinton? The record that I have from the Edmondson Family Assn Bulletin says he was b Kankakee, IL, graduated from Winchester, IL high school in 1890 and from the College of Physicians and Surgeons , Chicago, in 1896. He was past President of the DeWitt Co. Medical Society and formerly Mayor of Clinton. Died 11 January 1931 at age 59. The record does not give his ancestry or descendants, however. Is anyone familiar with his name? He does not seem to be related to the Dr. Edmistons ...T.K., J.A., or D.W.,who came from Logan Co., Ohio to DeWitt Co. Michelle Rush/St. Charles, IL

If anyone would like to see obituaries printed after 1929 on the county page it is possible. We would have to use the following form so we do not violate copyright laws: Name: Date of Obit: Born: Died: Parents: Married: Survivors: Funeral: Burial: If there is enough interest I will add a space just for Obit's after 1929. Dear Earliene Kaelin, Thank you for all your hard work on the obituaries. My great-great grandfather was Henry Blome, and if the Henry Bloome obituary is from the year 1939, I would be interested in having it. Henry's son, Frederick Michael, was the only doctor in Kenney, IL, from about 1918 to 1950. His son, Frederick, just passed away, and my brother inherited his newspaper articles about Kenney during World War II and his class yearbooks. If anyone is interested, please write me at my address above and I will get with my brother and see if we can share this information. Sincerely, Barbara A. LeRoy

Beverly, Have you tried Missouri for a marriage certificate?? I found Mason and Temperence In Paola, Lykins County, Kansas 1860 Census and since their oldest daughter Sarah E. is born in Missouri maybe they were married there. He was in Kansas with Peter Coppenbarger and family so maybe he was with them during their short stay in Knox County, Missouri, they were also up in Marion County for a short stay. Marion is right across the river from Quincy. Thomas J. Davenport (Mason's brother)was born in Missouri If you want the 1860 Census reading I would be glad to send it.
