Wabash Pearl 8-2-17 Carrie H., Daughter of Joseph and Margaret Pifer, was born on Lamotte Prairie, December 10th, 1885, and departed this life July 23rd, 1917, 61 years, 7 months, and 13 days. Her parents dying when she was quite small, she made her home with her sister, Mrs. J. H. Crews until 1873 when she was united in marriage to T. Hooper Cunningham. To this union was born one daughter Maude, who married Dr. H. Frank Brown, of St. Louis, where they now reside. Carrie united with the M. E. Church at Wesley Chapel early in life and lived a consistent Christian until the final summons came, She and her husband lived on a farm near Palestine until about eighteen years ago when they moved to St. Louis where they were still living at the time of her death. Deceased leaves besides her husband and daughter to mourn her departure two sisters, Mrs. Mary Goodwin and Mrs. J. H. Crews, and two brothers, Mr. C. W. Pifer and L.S. Pifer all of Palestine and one sister of Fowler California. Short funeral services were conducted at the late residence of 4220 Shaw Ave., St. Louis after which the remains were laid to rest in the city cemetery.
