Surnames: York Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ue.2ADI/1398.1.1 Message Board Post: I have sent for the civil war pension records and have in my possession his civil war service records (all listing him as Caleb Wesley York of Oblong, IL). I also wrote to IL for his death records and they could not locate a Caleb nor Charles York. I have been told that Miranda, his widow, applied for her pension in Arkansas. I'm awaiting those records from the National Archives. I have an old family bible of my grandmother's (Caleb's grandaughter) with date information. I know that the IL Civil War Website had him listed as Charles and I sent the National Archives records to them so that they would list the name "Caleb" as well. Thank you for your interest, suggestions, and response, it was most appreciated.
