Im sure theyve been helpful to a number of us. I found a connection with relatives of my York ancestors and Im submitting it here. Please let me know if this information is not correct if others of you have different verified facts. The following information, not all verified, was obtained from various sources, including published family genealogies, census records and Internet sources. I have some information on the siblings not in the direct line in case anyone is interested. Lavita Marie YORK, who died in 1933 a few days after she was born in Crawford Co., was the daughter of Leroy Alger YORK (b. 24 Apr, 1896, d. 17 Feb, 1945) and Audrey KIRTS (b. 6 July, 1897, d. 10 Mar, 1970). They were married 13 Sept, 1919. They had at least one other child, Shirley Ann YORK, b. 2 Aug, 1934. Leroy was the son of William Riley YORK (b. 31 May, 1869, d. 25 Sept, 1933) and Mary Elizabeth KING (b. 29 Mar, 1870, d. 27 Mar, 1922). They were married 16 Apr, 1893. They had at least 2 other children. William Riley was the son of Silas YORK (b. 4 Feb, 1831, d. 30 Nov, 1913) and Margaret CANNADY (b. 31 Jan, 1852, d. 13 May, 1929). They were married 12 Mar, 1868 in Crawford Co. Silas was the son of John YORK (b. 1 July, 1803, Nelson Co., KY, d. 17 July, 1858) and Martha EATON (b. 1802, d. 3 Aug, 1891, Crawford Co.). They were married 27 June, 1822 in Crawford Co. They had at least 11 other children. John was the son of Jeremiah "Jerry" YORK, Junior (b. 22 June, 1762, Frederick Co., VA, d 10 Sept, 1835) and Sarah HARGIS (b. abt 1769, d. 1820-1823, KY). They were married 2 Oct, 1787, Nelson Co., KY. They had at least 8 other children. Jeremiah "Jerry" Junior was the son of Jeremiah YORK, Senior (b. abt 1730, Spotsylvania Co., VA), d. 26 June, 1797, Dover, Mason Co., KY) and Mary THOMAS (b. abt 1730, VA). They were married abt 1751 in VA. They had at least 5 other children. Jeremiah Senior was the son of John YORK (b. abt 1704, Spotsylvania Co., VA, d. abt 1740, Spotsylvania Co., VA) and an unknown wife. They were married abt 1729 in Spotsylvania Co., VA. They had at least 1 other child.
