    3. Settlers and Intruders of Cherokee Lands, 1801 to 1816, Abstracts from Records of the Cherokee Agency in TN. Transcribed by Janelle Swearingen, 1989. Microcopy, M-208--Rolls 1-7 13 National Archives http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~janelle/Intruders.htm There is a list of surnames that are alpahbetized. Look at the page numbers, then go to the top of the page and click that page number. This gives an account of many, many names that went into the Cherokee land from NC up the Tn, OH, MS Rivers--and into Alabama, etc. It gave me great insight as to how and why our ancestors got to where they were going. Many appear to be sent as scouts or traders with the Indians. Many traveled in flat bottom boats with their families. They carried Whiskey, Tar, and other goods. I did not know one had to have a "pass" to travel the rivers back then. Goodness, I thought they just went. If you can't access the page for some reason, you can do a "search" for Intruders, Cherokee Lands. Shari
