There was a Nichols (Nickels) Family who lived in the area along the Wabash River Crawford, Clark, or the county to the north of Clark who moved to Reading, Kansas in the 1860's or so. The daughter kept a diary on the trip and it is published in the Bicentennial book for Reading, Kansas .... Thru the Years with Reading, Kansas 1757 - 1976.
