At the age of 20, he joined the army of the Revolution. In 1780, he served six months under Captain Pearson, followed by three months in 1781 under Captains Duval and Hudson, then four months under Captain Hudson in 1782. On March 7, 1787, William married Nancy Waldrop (born 1772 - died June 15, 1846), a sister of John Waldrop, a pioneer of Crawford County. To this marriage was born three known children. Elizabeth and William Jr. (born 1796) were born in Laurens Co., South Carolina. In 1798, the family moved to Union Co., South Carolina and lived there until 1800 when they moved to Christian Co., Kentucky where Hannah was born. In 1816, they moved to Crawford County, Illinois. Little is known of Elizabeth, Hannah married William Allison on Dec. 23, 1820 in Crawford Co. William married Polly Ellison of Virginia, while still in Kentucky. They had nine children seven whose names are known. William Francis, Susan, who married Joe Carter, Thomas, John, Daniel, Hannah, who married James Hamilton Wright and Rueben Wilson. Robert Dunlap, who married Hannah Higgins is believed to be a son. Thomas (born Dec. 12, 1827 - died Mar. 17, 1865) married Mary (Polly) Fitts (born Aug. 15, 1829 -died Jan 30, 1917) on Jan. 14, 1849. To this union was born six children, 3- Presley, John, William, Polly Ann, who married Alphus Jewell, Hannah Jane, who married John Kent and Richard Francis. On Feb. 11, 1865, Thomas enlisted in the Union army at Olney, Ill. From Olney he went to Camp Butler, Illinois, where he joined Co. H 152nd Regiment Illinois Infantry. The regiment then moved to Tennessee where he died at Tullahoma of the measles. Wiliam (born Dec. 10, 1852 - died Dec. 18, 1917) married Ruth Stogsdill (born Mar. 30, 1848 - died March 13, 1882), they had five children, Stella (Minnick), Thomas Franklin, Charles, Nancy Ann (Taylor) and Francis (Darnold). William remarried Sept. 1882 to Alice Amanda Padgett (born Dec. 5, 1856 -died Nov. 6, 1903), a daughter of Elias Hanson and Eliza (Brubaker) Padgett. To this union was born seven children, James, Clara (Simons) (York), Henry Albert, Joseph, Ida (Shank), Ada, Katie (Newman). William remarried again Oct. 23, 1906 to Mary Stolz and they had no children. WILLIAM DUNLAP William Dunlap, Revolutionary soldier from South Carolina, was born in 1760. He married Nancy Waldrop in Laurens County, South Carolina in 1787. They migrated to Christian County, Kentucky, then to Illinois where they entered land in Lamotte Township, Crawford County in 1817. William Dunlap died in 1835. William Dunlap, Jr., born in 1796 in Kentucky, married Polly Allison. They were the parents of John, Daniel, Hannah, Wilson, William and Polly. William (Francis) Dunlap, son of William and Polly Dunlap, married Mahala Parker. They were the parents of William Franklin and Mary Ann. William Francis Dunlap died in 1845, age 26 years. His grave is in the Nethery Cemetery. Mahala married Mr. Kent in 1846. William Franklin Dunlap married Mary Eliza Harper Kennedy. Mr. Kennedy died from pneumonia after three months service in the Civil War. Mary Eliza Kennedy had one daughter, Mary Ellen. Mary Ellen Kennedy married Daniel Boone Darnold. Their children were Elvina, Elizabeth, Minnie, Grace, Nora, William, Velma, Frank, Pearl, Myrtle and two unnamed infants. Daniel and Mary Ellen Darnold and daughter, Grace are buried in the Charlottesville Cemetery. William Franklin and Mary Eliza Dunlap were the parents of George, Marshal, Franklin, all of whom died young and are buried in New Hebron Cemetery and Sanford, Henry, Thomas, Skillman, John and Cora. The William Franklin Dunlap home was a log house located about 1/2 mile east of Hurricane School. Mahala Kent lived some two miles east. William, "Uncle Billy" made ax handles etc. He was making a delivery and since it was very cold with snow on the ground, he went by his mother's home. He found her in the barn lot almost frozen to death. She died a short time later. Mahala and William Kent are buried in the New Hebron Cemetery. William Franklin and Mary Eliza Dunlap are buried in Port Jackson Cemetery. Sanford Dunlap married Rebecca Souther. They were parents of Ava, Laura, Bulah, Edith, Goldie, Luther, Nile, Florence, Daisy and Roy. Sanford and Rebecca Dunlap's graves are in Port Jackson Cemetery. Thomas Dunlap married Ruth Allison, secondly Susan Crawford Myers. They had one daugher, Esther Mae. The graves of Thomas and Ruth Dunlap are in Good Hope Cemetery. Skillman Dunlap married Alice Faith. Their children were Guy, Everett, Wilma, Ethyl, Wilbur and Vermal. Skillman and Alice Dunlap and son, Vermal are buried at Sumner, Illinois. Everett Dunlap is buried at Chauncey and Wilbur Dunlap is buried at the Jones Cemetery south of Flat Rock, Illinois. Cora Dunlap married Douglas McIntosh. Their children were Ross, Mabel, Pearl, Ray, Roy, Neal and Emerson. The graves of Cora and Douglas McIntosh are in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Wellsville, Kansas. Henry Dunlap married Lota Goff. They were parents of Homer, Ruby, Perman, Irene and Dorothy. Dorothy married Wilbur Wesley. Henry and Lota Dunlap, Ruby, Perman and granddaughter Delores Millare are buried in the Charlottesville Cemetery. Homer Dunlap and wife, Nina, are buried in the Robinson New Cemetery.

    3. Looking for information on any of the Keller family that was in Crawford Co. from 1900's to 1980's. Is any of the family still around there? Believe that there was a Grover Keller that lived in Robinson in the 1950's, is he buried there and who did he marry? Were there any children if so what were their names and who did they marry?
