She was the daughter of Charles and Rebecca Osburn Buckner. She married Jan. 16, 1868 John Thomas Cox the son of early Christian ministers in the county who was the son of Bryant and Candace Harrison Cox. She had five children: Hattie b. 1868 d. 1921; Estella b. 1871 d. 1898; Charles Simpson b. 1876 d. 1878; Manford b. 1880 and survives, Merle b. 1884 and survives. Her husband died Jan. 30, 1892.
