The original immigrant of my York branch appears to be John who was born @1704 and died 1740 in Spotsylvania, VA. I believe he was the father of the first Jeremiah who married Mary Thomas in VA. They moved to Kentucky where Jeremiah I died in 1797. Jeremiah II married Sarah Hargrass and died 1835 in Perry, IL. Jeremiah III married Sarah Hill and died 1866 in Oblong, IL. Caleb Wesley York was the son of Jeremiah III and Sarah Hill York. Caleb married Marinda Lorraine Clark in Crawford County, December 1859. Caleb died November 24, 1881 (I believe in IL but can't locate the documentation to confirm my belief). I know Miranda moved to Oklahoma with her sons and died in Oklahoma as I was able to visit her gravesite last year. I'm also looking for the birth record for my great-grandmother (daughter of Caleb) as she is sometimes listed as Sarah Rachel, Sarah Etty, Rosie, Rosia York.
