(b.1841 France d. 1927 in IL) He & his brother Henry can to America from France in the mid to late 1800s. Pro was originally spelled Preau. Louis & his wife, Caroline Booher, were listed in the 1870 & 1880 census. They were living in Vermillion County, IL. His brother, Henry, was also living near Danville, IL (on the IL/IN border) with a Chandler family. I know that their father died in France and that their mother married a Dunbar. My g-grandfather lived with his son, George Herman Pro, near Champaign, IL. My mother said they would go to Indiana to visit other family members. Does any of this information tie in with your Pro family?
