This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Waldrop, Easton, Morris, Stewart Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Ue.2ADI/1116.4 Message Board Post: Suspect my ancestor Celia (________) Morris Preston Easton was the Cecelia Waldrop listed on Ancestry.com as a daughter of John and Mary (Dunlap) Waldrop. Celia married 1st James Morris about 1815. He died prior to 1840 leaving children Elizabeth (who married Robert H Stewart), a son William L (who married Mary Stewart sister of Robert H), a son Lewis, and maybe others. In 1840, Sealy Morris and Robert H Stewart, were named Administrators to the estate of Esau D Morris. Esau was married to a woman name Elizabeth and left a number of minor children. He is believed to be Celia's brother in law. Esau had owned a lot of land in Crawford County prior to moving to Coles County just prior to his death. Celia married Othniel Preston about 1842 in Coles County as "Mrs Celia Morris." She then married Richard Easton about 1851, probably in Cumberland County. Celia appears on the 1860 census in the household of her son William L Morris as Celia Easton, 55, born in Tenn or Penn, widow. She died in Cumberland County, IL, shortly after 1860. 1887 bio from Coles County of Ezekiel Easton, grandson of Richard Easton, mentions his grandfather married 2nd Celia Waltrip (sp?). Would also like to know parentage of Wiley Waldroupe who appears on the 1850 census of Cumberland County. He was a neighbor to 3 of the sons of Richard Easton. He married Matilda Strader in 1853 in Coles County. She was a niece to Robert H Stewart and Mary Stewart mentioned above. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
