I'm just posting an Obit that was sent to me by Barbara Dix who is transcribing old news articles for the website. Aged Lady Passed Away Eliza A. Cox was born near Hutsonville, Ill., July 30th, 1846 and departed this life March 2, 1929 in the home of her son, Irwin Cox at Terre Haute Ind., age 82 years, 7 months and 2 days. She was united in marriage to Nathan Cox March 9th, 1867 who preceded her in death in 1919. To this union were born ten children of whom eight are serviving--Mrs. Arminta McCain, Mrs. Effie McCain, Edgar and William H. Cox of Hutsonville, Ill. Mrs. Esther Kirts and Irwin Cox of Terre Haute, Ind., Mrs. Gertrude Chitticks of Paris, Ill., and Cecil Cox of Robinson, Ill. Amanda and Emma preceded her in death in early life. She is also servived by 26 grandchildren. She united with the Baptist Church west of Hutsonville early in life and has lived a consistent Christian life. She bore her suffering in the last few years very patiently and has often remarked to the ones who cared for her that she was prepared, and it was the prayer and desire to be taken from this life to a greater life beyond where she could meet the loved  ones gone before.
