I don't have much other info other than that her parents' names were Eugene and Jessie Kinney, she (Marie) would have been about 12 (plus or minus 2 years or so) at the time of her death, and she was a deaf-mute. Also, she probably was born in Michigan or Ohio sometime shortly after 1892. She is not listed with the family in the 1910 Federal Census (by which time the family had located in Wood County, Ohio), so I am presuming she passed away sometime between 1900 and 1910. If anyone there could help me find additional information about Marie, I would be most thankful.

I don't have anything on the parents of Martha Bradbury but this biography contains some details on the family of Bryant Cox in case you haven't seen it...... From "History of Crawford & Clark Counties, Illinois", ed. W.H. Perrin, 1883 Hutsonville Twp. Biographies, Vol. II, p. 266-267 BRYANT COX, retired farmer, P.O. Hutsonville, whose portrait appears in this work, is a son of Thomas and Winney (Harrol) Cox, and was born in Wayne Co., N.C., October 21, 1804. His father, a native of the same State, died in 1809, and his mother between 1850-1860. Bryant was the fourth of a family of seven children, and his father dying left him a lad of about five years old to be supported and reared by his widowed mother. His youth was spent upon a farm, where he early learned to do his part toward the general support of the family. Education at the schools was impossible under such circumstances, and he was obliged to be satisfied with seventeen days with the school master. He was not without other resources, however, and by his quick and intelligent observation, Mr. Cox gained an education which has served him well in business. After passing his twentieth birthday some six months, he married and began farming on his own account, paying out more than half he made for rent. This, with the unprofitable style of farming prevalent in his native State, determined him to emigrate to the Northwest, and in 1830 he started for Illinois. On June 1, of this year, he reached Crawford County, making the whole journey on foot, his wife and children coming in a cart drawn by two horses, only one of which he could call his own. Besides this his whole earthly possessions were comprised in $30 cash which he had in his pocket. He rented land and began farming in Hutsonville Township, about a quarter of a mile from his present residence. Here the whole family slept on the floor of their cabin, as their straitened circumstances denied them even the luxury of a bedstead. The first crop was corn, which proved a success, and found sale at 8 1/3 cents per bushel. Here Mr. Cox labored three years before he got money enough to enter land; but in 1833 he secured a pre-emption for three years, and, though nearly losing the land, finally entered it is June, 1836. From this start of 70 acres, by industry and economy, he added to his possessions until he owned 611 acres, which he subsequently divided among his children and retired with his wife to a life of ease. On February 5, 1824, Mr. Cox married Martha Bradbury, in North Carolina. On February 5, 1842, she died, leaving five children, the youngest only three months old. Of these children, only three are now living--Sally, William and Andrew. July 15, 1842, in Crawford County, he married Candace Harrison, who died March 1, 1879, leaving three children--Simpson, Angeline and John Thomas. In August 14, 1881, he married Sarah Miller, a native of Crawford County. Mr. and Mrs. Cox are members of the Christian Church. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Lynnbiss22@aol.com> To: <ILCRAWFO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, July 30, 2004 9:53 AM Subject: [ILCRAWFO] Re: Bryant Cox and Martha Bradbury > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Cox, Bradbury, Bradberry > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Ue.2ADI/1314.2.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Ann: > I have a first wife for BRYANT COX Born Wayne co,NC as MARTHA BRADBURY Born Wayne co, NC > Possible Children: > William R. Celia married 1st James Morris about 1815. He died prior to 1840 leaving children Elizabeth (who married Robert H Stewart), a son William L (who married Mary Stewart sister of Robert H), a son Lewis, and maybe others. In 1840, Sealy Morris and Robert H Stewart, were named Administrators to the estate of Esau D Morris. Esau was married to a woman name Elizabeth and left a number of minor children. He is believed to be Celia's brother in law. Esau had owned a lot of land in Crawford County prior to moving to Coles County just prior to his death. Celia married Othniel Preston about 1842 in Coles County as "Mrs Celia Morris." She then married Richard Easton about 1851, probably in Cumberland County. Celia appears on the 1860 census in the household of her son William L Morris as Celia Easton, 55, born in Tenn or Penn, widow. She died in Cumberland County, IL, shortly after 1860. 1887 bio from Coles County of Ezekiel Easton, grandson of Richard Easton, mentions his grandfather married 2nd Celia Waltrip (sp?). Would also like to know parentage of Wiley Waldroupe who appears on the 1850 census of Cumberland County. He was a neighbor to 3 of the sons of Richard Easton. He married Matilda Strader in 1853 in Coles County. She was a niece to Robert H Stewart and Mary Stewart mentioned above. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I drove there today, it is just about 8 or 9 miles south of Oblong and west 1 1/4 miles from the cross roads 200E and 400N. The cemetery is across the road from the Berlin Church, it is well kept. Looks like there are tombstones missing. I thank all of you that was kind enough to answer my query.
