    3. Crawford County was formed on December 31, 1816 from Edwards County. However, the first GOODWIN I found on Crawford County census was in 1830. Looking at the 1850 census information for Ranson and Silas GOODWIN, it would appear this line of GOODWIN's came from Indiana. If anyone has any additional information, I sure would appreciate it if you would share it with me. Crawford County Census for GOODWIN: 1830 IL CRAWFORD CO. 3. I am searching for any information on the family of William and Ruth GOODWIN living in Crawford Co., IL in the early 1800's. And any information on their son Jared/Jarred/Jarrett GOODWIN born about 1810 - 1812. Did this GOODWIN family have any ties to Indiana or Kentucky? I am trying to find out if the Jarret GOODWIN that was the son of William and Ruth GOODWIN is the same Jarret that married Sarah Wilkerson/Wilkinson in Venderburgh Co., IN in 1833. Someone researching the GOODWIN family found a Crawford County Illinois Probate dated 1829 that included Jarred GOODWIN. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    3. In regards to the question: will Pattys Lycan the county clerk, list of births, deaths and marr. be on line. I don't believe they will be, but I'll drop by and see if she's interested in that idea. However, the marr. index is already on line through the state genealogy society. Members here have been working on that index for at least 5 years. Happy Hunting Sue

Thanks Sue for letting us know about this: I've been to Patty Lycans office yesterday looking over the new computer index she's made on the birth, death and marriage records. 3. Hi, where is everyone! Are ya all planning vacations after this awful winter??!!! I've been to Patty Lycans office yesterday looking over the new computer index she's made on the birth, death and marriage records. The index on death dates are 1877-1915, birth 1877-1915, and marr 1817-1915. I asked her how she charges. Patty said a reg. copy of any of the above is $2 it certified $5. IF you for some reason need 5 or more certified copies of the same person, notice I said same person, then the first is $5 and others are $2. IF you need lookups of more than 10 names, they will charge $10 and the price of copy. The dates end at 1915 for the general public. However the library happens to have a copy of the death index from the state starting from 1916 to 1966. You may be interested in going to www.crawfordcountycentral.com probably you will want to bookmark that address. Patty is working on a form you can print out, fill out and send in through snail mail. Patty said please don't send her any e-mail requests!!!! They won't do any! She's really worked hard in trying to keep our county records available and yet abide by the state laws. Now... let's get some action on this site.... :) I'm researching the following families here in ole Crawford, anyone sound familiar? Richart, Barnett, Hardin, Padgett, Brubaker. In Lawrence Co. I have info on Ferguson, Jones, Crouch, Shinkle, Ashbrook, and Higgins. Now, it's your turn! What do you have? Hapy Hunting Sue
