Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Marshall Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Mollie Edith Schoffstall, 64, who died Friday afternoon at her home southwest of Oblong. Rev. Frank Treadway officiated with burial in the Waggoner Cemetery. Survivors are her husband, Fred, and five children, Cleon of Claremont, Ill., Audrey Paddick of Waverly, Tenn., Katherine Poland of Terre Haute, Ind., Velma Buss of Olney and Gilbert of Oblong; three brothers, Roy Davis of Olney, Vernie Davis of Whiting, Ind., and Myrle Davis of Oblong; four sisters, Cora Schoffstall of Calhoun, Ill., Mary Zimmerly of Olney, Lou Stone of Olney and Anna Hart of Olney; also twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jane Newman, 97, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Julia Sloan of Oblong at 6:50 a.m. Sunday. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Hardinville with Rev. W. O. Beard officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dayton Cross. Mrs. Newman was the last of charter members of the church. Burial was in the Hardinville cemetery. Survivors are two daughters; Mrs. Sloan and Mrs. Ethel Mundhenk, both of Oblong, and one son, Lester Newman, Colorado Springs, Colo.; ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and fourteen great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie McColpin, 37, Noble, former Crawford County resident were held in Lawrenceville, Sept. 19. The family has resided in Noble for the past seven years, moving there from this county, the Olney Daily Mail reported. She is survived by her husband, Jasper; four children, Betty Ann, Norma Jean, Carole Marie, and Larry Don, all at home; and one sister, Mrs. Mary Carson, of Vincennes, Ind.

Interment was made in the new Robinson cemetery. Mrs. Sager died at her home on South Jackson Street in Robinson Wednesday noon of last week. She was 91 years of age. Robinson Argus 1/23/1936 Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Union Church for Isaiah Rich, 72, who died suddenly Sunday evening at his home from heart trouble. Rev. W. O. Stonebraker, of Birds, pastor of the church, conducted the services and burial was made in the cemetery nearby. Mr. Rich was well known throughout the county, having been a tax assessor for many years. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Howard Weger and Mrs. Harry Weger of Birds, Mrs. William Midgett of Flat Rock, and Mrs. Earl Butcher of Union vicinity, and by four sons, Chester, with whom the deceased made his home, William of Eldorado, Kansas, and Orville of Robinson.

Born in Crawford County January 29, 1897, she was a daughter of Levi Martin and Arminta Charlotte Weck Biggs. She was a member of Bellair Church of Christ. On January 30, 1917 she married Olan Ping and he died September 6, 1959. Also preceding her in death were three brothers; two sisters, and her parents. Surviving are a son, Kenneth Ping, Oblong; a brother, Perry Biggs, Oblong; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 2, at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong. Brother James Rue officiated. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery, northwest of Oblong.

John Green Parker served in the Civil War. John G. and Irene went northwest to South Dakota after the birth of their first child. Some of the children were born in New Mexico, California and finally in Kansas. John G. and Irene were the parents of eight children: Lillian Rosa, b. 1865, Westfield, Illinois, m. James Madison Harrouff. (one daughter, Jessie Pearl, m. Homer T. Shore; Lillian died 7 July 1927. Jessie Pearl and Homer T. Shore had one son, Boyd. Wife's name not know, had one child, Marilyn, m. Donald Gresham and when the book was published in 1986 lived at Shawnee Mission, Kansas. Mr. Eubanks was one of the old timers, residing southwest of Oblong, later moving to Willow Hill where he resided for a good many years and then returned to Oblong where he with his wife has lived for two or three years.

The body was taken to the family home two miles south of Hardinsville Wednesday morning. He was 31 years old and leaves a wife and family. The funeral was held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Weger, both deceased.
