    1. [ESTILLKY-L] Allen/Hollingsworth/Stephens/Robertson Help!

    3. Hi everyone, Well, I'm trying in vain to flesh out my Allen side of the family and need your help. Jefferson Allen and Mary Hollingsworth were married in Clay Co. in 1860. They had three children, Richard, Sophia & Narcissus. They are found on the 1870 & 1880 Clay Co. census. They moved to Estill Co. sometime between 1880 - 1883 as 2 of the children were married then with the third marrying in 1887. Evidentally, Mary died or they got divorced as Jefferson is listed on the 1900 census with a new wife, Lucinda. They are listed as the parents of a Brownlo Allen age 5. Jefferson died 11 Mar 1918 in Estill Co. and is buried in Pea Ridge Cemetery. Richard married Louisa Brinegar on 15 Mar 1883 in Estill Co. They had several children and divorced by 1898. Richard is believed to have gone back to Clay Co., supposidly married a Patience Sandlin, and Louisa married a George Williams. Sophia married Nelson Stephens on 1 Apr 1883 in Estill Co. I found a Nelson Stephens listed on the 1880 Estill Co. census. He was 17 at the time, living in the household of Nancy Stephens, 40, with another young man, John, who was 14. Narcissus married William H. Robertson on 2 Jan 1887 in Estill Co. Now for question and answer time: 1. Does anyone know who Lucinda was? There is another child living in the house, listed as a daughter, by the name of Sarah Sloane who was 16. She's not one of Jefferson's children. 2. Does anyone know who this Nelson Stephens is? 3. The daughters and their husbands aren't shown on the 1900 Estill, Jackson, Owsley or Lee censuses. Does anyone know what happened to them? Did they go back to Clay Co. as their brother did? 4. Does anyone know what happened to Mary Hollingsworth Allen? Thanks so much for any help you can give me on this. Jen Jen Bawden jenbawden@home.com ______________________________ --------------------
