    2. Kevin & Gay Doyle
    3. Hello! I wonder if anyone can help me answer this question. I found an old Coles Co. Teacher's Certificate that belonged to my husband's grandfather. It is dated Aug., 1911, and it is only for teaching second grade. I know his grandfather grew up in Charleston, IL. How can I find out where he taught school, and for how long? (He went into the Navy in WWI, and also worked for the railroad). Any help would be appreciated. Gay Doyle

    3. I'm trying to find Nehemiah Fleetwood of Coles Co. IL. He was married to Jerusha Morris. The last I could find on him were landsales records. He purchased 40 acres of Railroad land (?) for $8.00 on June 3, 1874. He was born in Delaware (1811 or 1812) and lived in Indiana until sometime after 1860. The township he purchased land in, was listed as 13N. Does anyone know what township this would be? I do not have access to 1870 or 1880 Coles Co. census records. Can anyone help out? I would be very grateful! Kezia and Steve Johnson

    1. Re: [ILCOLES-L] Coles County Marriage Question
    2. Lang
    3. Hi Martin, Yes, the Coles County Clerk's office has marriage records for the time period you mentioned. The cost of the certificate is $7.00. However, you must remember that marriages during that time period will only have the date of the marriage, the bride and groom's names, and the name of the man performing the marriage. There are no parents names or where they were born. To obtain certificates, just sent the money to the Coles County Clerk, Coles County Courthouse, Charleston, IL 61920. They will get the certificate back to you as soon as they can. If you need to find out specifically when they were married, you'll need to contact me directly, as I don't do lookups over the list. 1. [ILCOLES-L] FLOCK
    2. Hello, is there anyone who can point me in the direction I need to go? My gg- grandfather, McClelland FLOCK (name might have actually been Philip McClelland Flock) supposedly died 2 Sep 1920 in Mattoon, Coles, IL. I have no documentation of that. Is there an index of deaths in IL online or somewhere else that I could look before I send money to Vital Records for a search that may not be accurate? Any hints or advice is most welcome. I have quite a bit of information on the Kibler family, but I need to find her father in order to fit her in. Mary Balch, b. July 25, 1854 in Jasper County and husband Grandison Foote. They had four children: Alice, Burt, Hugh and Maude, my great-grandmother. Susan Walls, b. Mar. 14, 1850 in Cumberland County. Died 1934. Married Joseph Price.
