Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Does anyone have any information on Gilead Cemetery? I found some old obits from my family and they are buried at "Gilead Cemetery, southeast of Centralia." This may be where I can find information on my "mystery ancestors"--Emery Moore and Sindy Marshall, who a few of you were helping me research. Their daughter is buried here, so they may be also. I'm hoping, anyway! Hi, Lauren, "Southeast of Centralia" would mean the cemetery is not in Clinton Co. That majority of that town is in Marion Co., a small portion is in Clinton Co. According to http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnis/web_query.gnis_web_query_form there are two Gilead Cemeteries in Jefferson County, none are listed for Clinton Co. or Marion Co. The closeness of the three counties are shown on the Illinois map at http://www.ilgenweb.com/ilgenmap.htm Bottom line - perhaps try Jefferson Co. next. ----- Original Message ----- From: Laurin Grabowski To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, December 29, 2003 6:54 AM Subject: [ILCLINTON] ISO info re Gilead Cemetery, SE of Centralia Hello everyone!
