I have a greatgreataunt Ruth Ann FULTON CLARK MIDDLETON who was married to Joel Middleton and lived in Iuka, Marion Co., IL. She had a daughter, Rebecca Clark who lived with her well into her thirties. Then in 1880 she married a Charles MIDDLETON and moved to TX. I found Rebecca and Edgar Middleton in a TX cemetery listing. She had died in 1881, and Edgar had died soon after. Ruth Ann and Joel had a son, Josephus and many of this Middleton line lived in MO. I am thinking that this may be your line of Middletons as well. I have a little more about this line that I can share if you want it. They had 9 children. Their daughter Elizabeth (Lizzie) Biswell is my great grandmother. I am trying to find information about her and my grandfather, William (Willis/Bill) Brown. Specifically, when and where they were married. They had a son Named Archie, who died the end of March 1899. A son, Elmer James, a daughter, Cora Jane, and my grandfather William (Willis) McKinley Brown. I have been told by a family member that Bill Brown died before my grandfather was born in 1895. My grandfather was born in Pocahontas, Randolph Co., AR. > Lizzie remarried to a Charles Josephus Middleton on Feb. 15, 1899 in Ripley Co., MO. They had one son, John Wesley Middleton, born in Donathan/Doniphan, Ripley co., MO on July 29, 1900. He was my great uncle. I would appreciate anything on them that I can get. Hi Donna; I would love to share whatever information I have. It sounds like we could have some of the same Middleton's. I know that John Middleton lived around Ripley and Butler Co., MO. He was in the Amy. He married a girl named Sarah Rhodes in 1924 in Butler Co., A far as I know, there were no children, but that is not a positive. He moved to New Orleans, LA around 1956 and he lived there until he died on August 25, 1966. He was Police Officer in New Orleans. He also worked for the Railroad at one time. My grandfather, Willis Brown, his half brother worked for the St Louis-Frisco Railroad, so he may have worked for that one too. I am just getting going on the Middleton's. I have Armypapers for him and his marriage license to Sarah. John also has a daughter who lives in ILL, and grandkids who live there. On his death certificate and his Army papers,it said that he was divorced. I don't know if he was ever married again. He was living with a woman named Annie there in New Orleans the year before he died according to a letter I have that he wrote my grandfather. I have pictures of him also. He is buried in Hudson National Cemetery in Baton Rouge, LA. On the 1900 census, Charles and Elizabeth Middleton are living in Ripley Co., MO. AndJohn was born in Doniphan. On the 1910 census, they and John and William Brown, are living in Poplar Bluff, Butler Co., MO. On the 1920 census, there is only Elizabeth, William and John. So I am assuming that Charles died in between 1910 and 1920. I am very interested in seeing what you have. Thanks a lot Maybe a Cousin?
