James and Harriet Cooper are listed in the 1900 census for Carlyle City. During proofing, the size of the household became a bit larger - there were 2 families in that house. The household number changed, too. According to http://www.sos.state.il.us/departments/archives/marriage.html Mary Cooper married James Clabaugh. If you want to check for other Coopers, you could go to that URL, and just insert Cooper for the brides in Clinton Co. Later try the grooms. Or you could expand it to statewide, or some other county. I'll check the death register at the FHC on my next trip there - maybe in a week or two. James Clabaugh was my grandmother's brother or cousin - some day I'll do my own tree and figure it out.
