Surnames: Moore Marshall Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/ig.2ADE/182 Message Board Post: I'm looking for information on my 3G grandparents, Emery Moore and Sindy (Marshall) Moore. I have very little information on them--basically just their names from their daughter's obituary. I have not been able to find them in ANY of the federal census(es). Their daughter's name was Annie Elizabeth Moore, and she was born in Carlyle in 1867. She married a coal miner named John Fie. I find conflicting information on where her parents were born in various census--in the 1920 census her father's birthplace is listed as "India", and in 1930 it is listed as "Oklahoma." I imagine "India" was probably short for Indian Territory. In 1920, Sindy's birthplace was listed as Illinois, but in 1930 it simply says "United States." I believe that Emery Moore may have been a Native American, as I have been told that "someone" in my paternal grandmother's family was 100% Sioux, but no one seemed to know exactly WHO. I'm not even confident they got the tribe right. I would be grateful for any information or hints/helps you can offer! I am totally stumped with these two, and apart from actually going to Clinton county, I don't know what else I can do! Thanks in advance. Laurin
