Gloria and I just decided this evening to maybe go to the Springfield, Illinois libraries on Thursday of this week. One of our stops will be in the death-records-section. If there is a death record between 1916 through 1950 that is indexed on http://www.sos.state.il.us/departments/archives/idphdeathindex.html#background that you are willing to pay $1 plus postage for, send me privately the information from the web page and your snail mail address. We don't guarantee that we'll have enough time, but we'll sure try to get it if you give the correct location of the document. Your request must be here by 5AM on Thursday November 6 - not much time. Here is what the State web page advises: Researchers wishing an unofficial and uncertified copy of a death certificate may visit the Illinois State Archives Reference Room. To locate a death certificate in our Reference Room, the following information from the database will be needed: decedent's name; date of death; names of county and, if provided, township where the death took place; and death certificate number.
