Carol has added 20 pages of Bob Schroeder's transcription of the 1865 Clinton County, Illinois census online, and has also added an alphabetical index. The phonic spelling is pretty bad in some cases, so the alphabetical index should be helpful. Tell Carol or me if you know what some of the names really are, we'll update the listing if we can. Nancy Burton has volunteered to transcribe five more pages. That leaves 40 pages to go if you'd like to volunteer. I now have paper copies of the microfilmed pages to send to volunteers. Tell me the surnames you are researching and I'll see if I can find any pages with those names. Most of the pages do not have any geographic location although there are 3 or 4 that say Trenton and maybe 2 that say Town of Shoal Creek, which might be Breese. And speaking of volunteers, Deborah Bay has volunteered to transcribe the 1930 census index for Breese and Breese Township. Only 16 townships left.
