    3. Bob, I went through the "T" index three times looking for any Ferdinand and saw none. Nor is there any Ferdinand under the "F". Since you told me what that name is supposed to be, that 1870 image for Household 99 on Page 360A could also be transcribed as Teener. If anyone ever uses the computer to assist in transcribing it (like Ancestry.com?) it might come out something like Fuenr. And no Dittmers in 1860 or 1870 although there are some Detmers later on. Nothing in 1881 History book on Theener, etc. or Dittmer. The only Detmer is Mary, married to Gerhard H. Otke, she came from Hanover, Ger. in 1837, they are patrons of the book, lived in Breese Township. Good luck in finding where Ferdinand stopped enroute to St. Louis and Catherine. He was born in 1837 in Germany, and immigrated to the US in 1855. She was born in St Louis in 1845. They were married in 1865 in St Louis, but are found in the 1870 and 1880 Clinton County censuses. They lived in Clinton County until circa 1890, then moving to Carroll County, Missouri, Surname is variously spelled Theener, Thuener, Theiner, and in the 1870 census it even appears to be "Tums". Even though the surname is apparently misspelled, all of the family members fit those listed in the 1880. Any assistance will be appreciated.
