Union Banner, Carlyle, IL, Jan 1, 2003, Page 2a/Col 3 Cecelia Haas, 88 Cecelia Haas of Albers died Tuesday, Dec. 24th, 2002, at Carlyle Healthcare Center, at the age of 88. Mrs. Haas was born in Damiansville on May 10th, 1914, to Frank and Theresa Korte Kalmer. On May 27th, 1937, in Damiansville, she married Arthur E. Haas, and he died April 22nd, 1969. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Haas of Palm Springs, Calif., and Daniel Haas of Albers; four daughters, Arlene Sandheinrich of Freeburg, Janet Huegen of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Judy Schurman of Trenton, and Kathy Dunnill of Highland; 22 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Kalmer of Damiansville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Haas; and two brothers, Alphonse Kalmer and Vincent Kalmer. Mrs. Haas was a homemaker and her hobby was quilting. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Ladies Sodality and Daughters of Isabella Circle 718. Funeral services were held on Friday Dec. 27th, at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church in Albers, with Rev. Leo Reinhardt officiating. Interment was in St. Bernard Cemetery. Hempen Funeral Home in Albers was in charge of arrangements.
