Union Banner, Carlyle, IL, Jun 30, 1999, Page 2/Col 2-3 Mildred Beckemeyer, 58 Mildred L. Beckemeyer of Belleville and formerly of Carlyle, died Saturday, June 26th, 1999, at her home at the age of 58 years. She was born in Carlyle on Feb. 13th, 1941, a daughter of Arthur C. and Lois Scott Beckemeyer. She never married. Survivors include her mother of Carlyle; one sister, Joyce Ripple of Belleville; one brother, Bill Beckemeyer of Carlyle and nieces and nephews. A 1963 graduate of McKendree College in Lebanon, Ms. Beckemeyer earned a masters degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1965. Before her retirement she had taught music at Hoffman Elementary School in Cahokia and gave private piano and drum lessons. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Sandoval and of the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle. Services were held at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle at noon Tuesday, June 29th, with Rev. Steve Goodin officiating. Burial was in Carlyle cemetery.
