Union Banner, Carlyle, IL, Dec 29, 2004, Page 2a/Col 1-2 Henry B. Schroeder, 72 Henry B. Schroeder, 72, of Germantown died Friday, Dec. 24th, 2004, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. He was born Jan. 3rd, 1932, in Bartelso, the son of Henry and Caroline Eilers Schroeder, and they preceded him in death. On May 28th, 1955, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Germantown, he married Joan Schlautmann, and she survives in Germantown. Also surviving are four sons, Lester Schroeder of St. Louis, Marvin Schroeder of Germantown, Ralph Schroeder of West Chester and Dennis Schroeder of Breese; three daughters, Linda Becker of Bartelso, Kathy Voss and Tina Mickelson, both of Breese; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Frank and Alvin Schroeder, both of Bartelso, Edward and Cletus Schroeder, both of Germantown; and two sisters, Alvina Heet of Plymouth, Ind., and Cornelius "Babe" Schomaker of Carlyle. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances Wieking, Laurentine Koczur and Adeline Schroeder. He retired from Kohnen Concrete in Germantown and Hunter Meat Packing in East St. Louis. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports and was an avid fan of all local sporting events. A funeral mass was held Tuesday, Dec. 28th, at 10 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with Father Stephen Humphrey officiating. Burial followed in St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation was at Moss Funeral Home in Germantown.
