"Nova" Hodapp of Highland were held Tuesday, April 8th, 2003, at 10 a.m. at Saint Paul Catholic Church in Highland, with Rev. Fr. David L. Peters officiating. Mrs. Hodapp, 86, died Friday, April 4th, 2003, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Highland. She was born on May 28th, 1916, in Breese, the daughter of Henry and Anna Merink Eschmann. On Feb. 4th, 1942, at St. Augustine Church in Breese, she married Sylvester "Dutch" Hodapp, and he preceded her in death in April 1969. She is survived by two sons, Dennis S. Hodapp of Wichita, Kan., and Thomas L. Hodapp of Hillsboro, Mo.; two sisters, Martha Holtgrave and Florence Kressig, both of Breese; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, were one son, Kevin Hodapp; one brother, Victor Eschmann; and one sister, Clara Pullmann. Mrs. Hodapp was born in Breese and lived there until her marriage, then moved to Beckemeyer. After the death of her son Kevin she moved to Highland in 1971. From 1971 until retirement in 1983 she was employed in the housekeeping department of St. Joseph Hospital of Highland. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Highland, St. Ann Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, Sacred Heart Circle #237, Highland, funeral choir of St. Paul and Joy Singers of Highland, and Happy Kitchen Kids of Highland.
