Union Banner, Carlyle, IL, Apr 23, 2003, Page 3a/Col 3-4 Alvina Voss, 86 Alvina M. Voss, 86, of Breese died Sunday, April 20th, 2003, at the Carlyle Healthcare Center in Carlyle. She was born on Jan. 22nd, 1917, in Breese, a daughter of Henry S. and Catherine Feltrop Ratermann, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 9th, 1944, at St. Dominic Church in Breese, she married Victor Voss, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 28th, 1997. Mrs. Voss is survived by three sons, Kenneth Voss and Roger Voss, both of Breese, and Kevin Voss of O'Fallon; two daughters, Marie Estes of Hampton Cove, Ala., and Sharon Barnett of Highland; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Richard Ratermann, Henry "Bud" Ratermann, and Jerry Ratermann, all of Breese; and two sisters, Florentine Ripperda of Trenton and Olivia Landemann of Highland. Mrs. Voss was a homemaker. She also was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Breese, where funeral services will be held 'at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 24th, with the Rev. Patrick Peter officiating. Interment will be at St. Dominic-St. Augustine Cemetery in Breese. Friends may call at Moss Funeral Home in Breese from 4 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, April 23rd, and from 8 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday.
