    1. Re: [ILCLINTO] Catholic Church Records. possible help
    2. In my opinion the Baptisms are the most difficult because: 1. There are more of them 2. In each entry you have the child, each parent, and you can have 2 to 4 sponsors. So that means lots of Latin to challenge you. Remember that in some of these churches the dates are written out in Latin so you have the birth date and the Baptismal date to decipher. The next most difficult would be marriages mainly due to the number of people to transcribe in each entry. Burial records are usually the least difficult because unless the priest knew the person the records consist of the deceased person's name, death date and burial date. We always hope that the parents' names are included or some other tidbit about the person but that depends on the priest. Then there is the matter of penmanship... Second decision: Which of the categories would you like to start on? Gloria: Please rate the categories by what you think would be easiest first up to the most difficult, generally. -----Original Message----- From: ilclinto-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:ilclinto-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Raecel Gibson Sent: Monday, April 21, 2008 8:07 AM To: ilclinto@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ILCLINTO] Catholic Church Records. possible help I would love to help. The death records are done, I can send you an Excel file of them to merely proof. The rest - births, baptisms, communions, marriages, etc. need to be done. Please contact me off-list with your email address and I'll send that file to you. Thanks, thanks, thanks. Can anyone else help transcribe any of the church records at http://search.labs.familysearch.org ? Sign in free, go to the next to last item in the right hand column and check it out. The Germantown St Boniface Death records are done, not the other categories. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ILCLINTO-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ILCLINTO-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to ILCLINTO-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message **************Need a new ride?
