Strotheide, 96, of Salem, Mo., died Sunday, January 27, 2008, at Salem Memorial Hospital in Salem, Mo. She was born in Clinton County on August 4, 1911, a daughter of Oscar and Elsie (Hull) Coigny. She married Frank H. Strotheide at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Stolletown on March 22, 1931, and he preceded her in death on April 8, 1983. She is survived by a daughter, Susie Fraser of Salem, Mo.; two sons, H. Louis Strotheide and wife Carol and John P. Strotheide, all of Salem, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; a step-grandson, Travis McMahan; and two brothers, Paul and Louis Coigny. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Carlyle, the Clinton County Home Bureau and the Clinton County Farm Bureau. She was a homemaker, made hand-made quilts and baked and decorated cakes. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Pastor Steve Sommerer, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery in Beaver Prairie. Friends may call at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m., and Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time.
