Gerstner, 66, of Breese, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4th, at St. Augustine's Church in Breese. Rev. Steve Poole officiated with burial following in St. Dominic-St. Augustine's cemetery in Breese. Mr. Gerstner died at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Friday, Oct. 1st, 1999. A son of Aloys and Gertrude Meyer Gerstner, he was born in Aviston on May 26th, 1933. On Dec. 5th, 1953, in Breese, he married Jackie Wade, and she survives. In addition to his widow, survivors include two sons, Gary and Rick Gerstner, both of Breese; his mother of Carlyle; six grandchildren and one brother, Donald Gerstner of Breese. A brother, Robert Gerstner, preceded him in death. Mr. Gerstner was a retired plumber having worked for Gerstner Plumbing of Breese. He was a 46 year member of Plumbers Local 360 in East St. Louis. Union Banner, Carlyle, IL, Sep 22, 1999, Page 2/Col 1-2 Andrew Ratermann, 48 Andrew R Ratermann of Germantown died Monday, Sept. 20th, 1999, in the emergency room at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese after a sudden illness. He was 48 years old. A son of Raymond and Leona Kapp Ratermann, he was born in Breese on Oct. 27th, 1950. On Sept. 6th, 1974, in Germantown, he married Barbara Schulte, and she survives. In addition to his widow, survivors include three sons, Chad, Darin and Craig, all of Germantown, his mother of Breese; five brothers, Marcellus Ratermann of San Diego, Calif., Alfred, Cletus, Stephen and Matthew Ratermann, all of Breese; and two sisters, Mrs. Elaine Brammeier of Nashville and Mrs. Betty Sligar of Centralia. Mr. Ratermann was a self-employed farmer and mechanic and operated Ratermann Pork Farm. He was a member of the Clinton County Farm Bureau. He also was a member of St. Boniface Church in Germantown where Rev. Vincent Haselhorst will officiate at services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23rd. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Beckemeyer of Belleville and formerly of Carlyle, died Saturday, June 26th, 1999, at her home at the age of 58 years. She was born in Carlyle on Feb. 13th, 1941, a daughter of Arthur C. and Lois Scott Beckemeyer. She never married. Survivors include her mother of Carlyle; one sister, Joyce Ripple of Belleville; one brother, Bill Beckemeyer of Carlyle and nieces and nephews. A 1963 graduate of McKendree College in Lebanon, Ms. Beckemeyer earned a masters degree from Eastern Illinois University in 1965. Before her retirement she had taught music at Hoffman Elementary School in Cahokia and gave private piano and drum lessons. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Sandoval and of the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle. Services were held at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle at noon Tuesday, June 29th, with Rev. Steve Goodin officiating. Burial was in Carlyle cemetery. A son of George and Catherine Wellen Timmermann, he was born in Aviston on Sept. 16, 1937. On July 20, 1957, in Tupelo, Miss., he married Marilyn Bauer, and she survives. In addition to his widow, survivors include two sons, Richard Timmermann of Highland and George Timmermann of Breese; one daughter, Mrs. Janet Deitman of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; four brothers, Paul Timmermann of Trenton, Walter Timmermann of Calabash, N. She was 70 years old. A daughter of August and Frances Huelsmann Grapperhaus, she was born in St. Rose Township on June 8, 1923. On Nov. 27, 1952, she married Francis G. Wilke in St. Rose, and he survives. Other survivors include three sons, Timothy and Robert Wilke, both of St. Rose, and Henry Wilke of Eades, Colo.; three daughters, Mrs. Zita Brousseau of Breese, Mrs. Rosanna Koch of Aviston and Mrs. Louella Hollenkamp of Germantown, and eight grandchildren. Born in Carlyle, he was a son of John and Rose Erlinger Feldmann. He later married Margaret E. "Sis" Townsend, and she survives in Beverly. Other survivors include one son, Brian E. Feldmann, and one daughter, Mrs. June E. Davidson, both of Beverly; five grandchildren; four brothers. Rev. Jerome Feldmann of Marydale, Mark Feldmann of Carlyle, and Ralph and John Feldmann, both of Illinois; and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Radosh of Gary, Ind., and Mrs. Patricia Kucka of Atlanta, Ga. Mr. Feldmann had been employed at Boston Edison Company, until retiring in 1977, as a senior vice president of engineering and operations. Angelo Lombardo officiated with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Lake died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese on Sunday, Oct. 4th, 1998. He was 66 years old. Born in Salina, Kans., on Dec. 14th, 1931, he was a son of Fred J. and Rose M. Hilmes Lake, Sr. On Oct. 30th, 1956, in St. Rose, he married Rose Woltering and she survives. Other survivors include one son, Danny J. Lake of Carlyle; two daughters, Patricia Emery of Carlyle and Mrs. Paula Anglen of Sandoval; five grandchildren and two brothers, Ralph Lake of Bartelso and Robert Lake of Peoria.
