We've had Sherry's 5 pages online at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilclint2/1865/index.htm for a year or two. Bob Schroeder has transcribed another 20 pages. We're looking for volunteers to transcribe another 20 or 40 pages. Would you believe me if I said the microfilm is perfect, easy to read, and prints out just gorgeous? No, I wouldn't believe me either. We can make copies of the pages if anyone is up to a challenge. There are no locations given on the pages. Carol said she might have them online by the weekend. Try the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index where you will find her listed as Hartenstein marrying George Hurst on 26 Jul 1856. I suggest getting creative with the spelling of these names. You might try Hirst, Herst, etc. if you haven't already. Good luck - Gloria
Surnames: PARKER Submitter: Nancy Misenheimer ([email protected]) Date: 06 Feb 2003 There is a marriage record in LDS Marriages which lists a Henry Parker to a "Mrs. Henry" Parker. Can anyone tell me where I can find this complete marriage record? I believe this Henry Parker is my own ggggrandfather who was born in 1780 N.C. and lived in Clinton co. in 1830. He was related to Elder John Parker and wondered if churches records would have this for LDS to post to their records. Thank you. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've looked at a couple of off-year state censuses. The information varies from state to state. The IL census I looked at named only the head of household, just like the federal census records before 1850. A Kansas census had names like the federal, plus it asked not only where the people were born, but also where they lived before going to KS. An Iowa census even asked what church they attended. These censuses are available on microfilm, but you probably won't find many on-line. Nancy --- [email protected] wrote: > > > Hi > > We have never seen an 1865 census before. Can you straighten me out on this? Federal Censuses are taken every ten years; however, from time to time various states have authorized mid-decade State Censuses. This is what the 1865 is. Laura
Hi We have never seen an 1865 census before. We thought they were taken every ten years. Can you straighten me out on this? About when will this go online? Conrad & Evelyn Nettemeyer
Carol has loaded the original land sales online, thanks to Delores Tamoria, Nancy Bower and Charlotte Silva's inputs a long time ago. You'll find it in the box with the plat books. She has also loaded two more of Jean's 1920 census Enumeration Districts - Meridian and Lake. She has moved the 1913 Commercial History of Clinton County to a box of its own so it's easier to find. Carol still needs more volunteers to help transcribe an index to the 1930 census http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilclint2/1930census/index.htm She says more of the 1865 census will go online next.

She married George Hurst, also from Germany, in Clinton County 7 July 1856. I believe George had two children of his own before he married her. From there I have lost her. I don't know if she and George divorced or stayed married. I can't find her under either name in any records after that. Can anyone help me?
A great link to all newspapers in the country... www.gebbieinc.com/dailyint Now we can read the obits almost everywhere! When asked how he was doing my grandfather had two responses: 1. I don't know yet; I haven't asked grandma. 2. I don't know yet; I have read the obits. Later in the day after having read the obits, he would say he wasn't in there so he must be okay. Gloria
There is now a Search Vehicle on line for the 1920 Census. Like the other smaller searchers, it will give you a hit based on the name appearing anywhere within that link. I queried on "Scott" and got 3 hits - two were given names and one guy was born in Scott, no surnames yet. This was correct. What a smart Searcher!
Carol has put indexes for 7 of the 29 Enumeration Districts (ED's) for our 1930 online at http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilclint2/1930census/index.htm There is a separate search vehicle just for the 1930 census. If the statement about New Year's is still there, please ignore that. Carol is looking for volunteers to help transcribe the indexes for the other ED's. This is a project that can be done as easily from other locations as it can be done from here. Different ways that you can help transcribe are listed on the web page. The first volunteer for each ED will be assigned that ED. Carol's email address is on that same web page. She also added the Brookside Township and Wade Township maps to the 1913 Plat Maps and has added more biographies.

Hello Susan I just read your email about Opal Dell and was wondering if she was related to Bessie Tabor. Bessie Tabor was my mom's aunt. Hope to hear from you soon. Ann Wells
I have a photograph of the tombstone of Opal Dell TABOR. The tombstone is in a cemetery in Clinton County on the southeastern edge of Carlyle Lake. It's a handmade base with a statue of an angel on top. According to the IL State Archives death records database, Opal died 04/12/1917. She was from East Fork Township in Clinton County. If anyone is interested in getting a copy of this picture, please email me at [email protected] I will gladly email you a scanned copy of this picture. Susan Carroll Kelley in IL
I found somewhere on your site where a Theresa Rhoden has tried to contact me about the Kienzle family. I have tried contacting her with no luck. My email address has not changed, it is [email protected] Would there be any way you could get us together? Diana Townsley

Each page might take a little extra time to load because of the size. There are plats for most sections to portray a picture of who is buried next to whom - in the older days, that meant family.
