I am trying to get my Thompson-Mattingly folk who settled in Clay Co, IL in the 1850's back to the MD line they belong to. My stumbling block is KY. I am not clear on the direct ancestor line of my Edward Thompson (let alone the cousin he married, Martha Mattingly). I believe I have found the right father for him, but then I am not sure on the grandfather or great grandfather. Her is what I have.
