I have received from the Clay County Genealogical Society a copy of the pages from an 1881 Atlas of Clay County Illinois. It was then scanned in; broken into 1 mile squares (472 of them); and placed under the first page of the "Maps" option of the Clay Co website (see address below). Just click on the section of interest. The map shows who lives on each farm and the size of the property; the location of schools, towns, and cemeteries and some churches. Currently the index is NOT online. Maybe later. If you find any links that are bad, please let me know. I've tried to test most of them, but there are over 1800.
