Hi To All, My question is this - were there other McGrew families in Clay Co. other than the Joseph and Mary McGrew Family. My GGrandfather, John Lewis McGrew b. 1835 in Tn became a father in Clay Co. in 1863. This child was James Holland McGrew. On his( James Holland) death certificate dated 1931, his mother was listed as Susan Hunt. On census records she is listed as being born in IL. John Lewis had another son in 1867 but he was born in MS. His name was Bluford Lacy McGrew. Susan evidently died between then and 1872 because that is when I find John Lewis again in Ark where he married Pricillia Newberry. They lived and had more children in Ark and MO. He died sometime around 1906 in Ark This has been driving me crazy. I just can't connect him with the Joseph McGrew family so he must have been in IL visiting or something. You good people have done marriage look ups for me with no results. John Lewis McGrew just can't be found in Clay Co. Please have mercy on me and help me out here.
