The descendants and friends of Arthur and Nancy (WATKINS) MOSELEY of Buckingham County, Virginia will hold their annual reunion Sunday, August 15, 1999 at the Flora Senior Citizens Center from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. Three of Arthur and Nancy's sons settled in Clay County in the 1830's - Bennett Watkins, Robert and Edward. Little is known of Edward who seems to have moved on to Missouri. Bennett and Robert resided SE of Clay City in Clay City Township. Some other Clay County surnames associated with the Moseley Family: Travis, Hough, Holman, Evans, Hubble, Dark, Clay, Bayler, Shaffer, Webb, Smith, Poppe, Prosser, Hosselton Last fall, this group spent a day cleaning and "reclaiming" the Moseley (Bunny Travis) Cemetery se of Clay City. The cemetery had been largely forgotten for many years. The last known burial was that of John D. Moseley in 1921. Family members Doug Shaffer and Zane Moseley now maintain this old burial ground. Anyone interested is cordially invited to attend our reunion. For further information please contact the undersigned.
