My great-great grandfather, Francis M. Lollar recorded this information in his book on the first settlement of Ingrham. "James LEVITT was the first white settler in this territory. He came from Posey Co., Indiana in 1826 and located 4 miles south of Ingraham, and west of Buckton, on the Olney & Louisville road. Mike LEVITT came about the same time and settled near his brother. Mike has three sons, Nace, Wesley, and William, all living in the immediate neighborhood."
