Hi Sandi, According to the Clay County History book, p. 172: "The township itself was named after Osman Pixley, one of the wealthiest and most enterprising men in Clay County, who came here many years ago and opened a store in the Ingraham neighborhood, and there, by economy and frugality, laid the foundation of his fortune."
