Hello! I'm located a very long ways away from Clay Co and I was wondering if anyone knew of what newspapers were in existence during the 1830's through the 1890's in Clay County? Are they microfilmed somewhere? I have come up against the brick wall and would like to try to see if there are any clues in the newspapers. My line: I suspect/not proven (through probate records) that Valentine Creech is the father of: ISAAC CREECH, b. ca 1847-49 in VA/KY. He married ELIZABETH PATRIDGE 20 Dec 1868 in CLAY Co, IL. Death date is approximately Oct 1889. Elizabeth remarried Joseph Travis 12 Oct 1893. This is NOT the same Isaac Creech born to William O. Creech ca 1860, Lee Co. Here are their children(known): 1. Thomas Creech, b. ca Feb 1872 2. Elmer (Kile) Creech, b. ca 1873 3. Benjamin Franklin Creech, b. 17 Oct 1876, m. 18 Oct 1900 to Arvilla Williams, d. 6 Feb 1935. (My g-grandparents) 4.
