I am looking for information on the Mathias and Isaac Meisenheimer family in Flora and Xenia. Mathias and his wife Mildred Elliott in Clay Co. and gave birth to a son named Isaac in 1825. Issaac married a Fanny Morefield in 1845 in Clay Co. They gave birth to many children and many of the children were farmed out to different family. Any information on these families while they lived in Clay Co. would be greatly appreciated. Also if someone has access to a census for 1820 to 1850, it would be greatly appreciated. I have much of the line complete and am searching for historical information on the family and exactly where they lived and how they lived. Sincerely, David
Does anyone know where I can obtain a copy of "INGRAHAM-LOLLAR SOUVENIR"? as mentioned below? Any information will be appreciated. There is information about this Ingraham family in "INGRAHAM-LOLLAR SOUVENIR" by Elder F. M. Lollar. It was first published about 1912/13, but was recently reprinted by a church in Ingraham, Illinois, but I don't remember which one. This booklet has a picture of John Ingraham, born New York, November 28, 1808, died February 18, 1879, son of Philo Ingraham and Arvilla Barney. John's wife was Eliza Besley, born September 13, 1813, died April 22, 1875, daughter of Samuel C. Beslely and Elizabeth Boggs. There is also a picture of Elder Harrison Ingraham, born in Wabash County, IL, July 12, 1812, died September 25, 1876. It does not give a name for his parents. He married Elizabeth Ann Turner, November 13, 1838. She was born Nov. 13, 1821 and died January 26, 1904. Daniel Ingraham, second son of Philo Ingraham and Arvilla Barney, was born July 8, 1804, Alleghany County, NY. His first marriage was to Rebecca White, nee Taylor, and his second was to Nancy Kenley, born July 12, 1821, died August 2, 1906. He died September 12, 1866. I am working on the Kenley family. Arvilla Barney's parents were William Barney and Jerusha Jefferson. It says, "John was the father of Philo, and Philo was the father of John..." There is more about this family in this little book. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Hi Shirley, You may have thought of this already, but is there any possibility the names were spelled differently somehow in 1870? Also, I discovered one fella who had been lost to me because he suddenly began using his middle name as his first, so while I was searching for William, he was in a census as Frederick. Good luck on your search! Pamela

Tricia, I was just putting in the info from Tom on the 1840, 1850, and 1860 census on Songer and I searched and searched for Giles Songer but he's not on my tree. My ancestor, Jacob Songer was born in VA in 1802. Giles was born in 1800 in VA. Also, there is a John Songer born in VA who appears to have been born in 1805 and an Abraham Songer born in VA in 1807. Do you have any ancestrial info on Giles Songer? Are these men perhaps brothers who migrated together? The Xenia Then and Now book says Abraham Songer (1773 PA - 1822) and Catherine Sawyer Songer (1773 MD - ?) had several children: Samuel, Fred, Jacob, John, Abram, James, Giles, Catherine, Rebecca E, and Elizabeth. I'm hoping that this is the same family as the brothers (??) above. The information is confirmed in the History of Clay Co. book and it claims that Abram is the only surviving sibling as of 1884. Your last message said "Giles Songer settled in Trenton township, Grundy county, in the year of 1846, and gave his attention to farming. He was a native of Indiana, and was born in Washington county, in that State, on the 25th of October, 1818, the son of Abram and Catherine Songer, both natives of Pennsylvania." which also confirms the info above. If you are interested, I can transcribe the whole page on Songers that the book lists. It indicates migration from Germany to Pennsylvania to Indiana to Illinois. Thanks, Nancy
