    3. Hello, Would anyone with the 1880 census mind checking the Clay Co., IL 1880 Census for: Asa SMITH and wife Mary J. COLCLASURE SMITH please? They probably had their daughter Viola SMITH by then. I hate to ask for a SMITH surname look up but I'd like to see what info is listed for them on there. Many thanks!!! 3. I agree with Wanda! I have purchased numerous publications from the Clay Co., IL Gen Society over the past few years and have been extremely happy with each and every one! I'm so "spoiled" by them now, that when I look into other States/Counties and see that they offer very little or nothing as far as publications, I get disappointed! Jean Bailey has always been so nice and helpful to me as well as to this list. Thank you Jean!!! Another HUGE debt of gratitude goes out to Ted Cash, Martha Cieglo, Lucille Wattles, Sandy Bollhorst, Lee Neilson and everyone else on this list, who's help and generosity has been overwhelming! Thank you all! Tricia Colcleasure Carothers At 08:10 PM 6/3/99 -0700, Wanda Pitt wrote: >This is a special note to Jean Bailey. 3. Hello Cousin David! I still have the Toliver info you sent me last year. I'm so glad you found the connection! Another subscriber sent me some information, but I don't know if it is confirmed info. It's pasted below. I also have info in Wright Phillips if you want it. He was the son of John P. Philips and Permelia/Amelia Stallings. My niece Viki and I have been able to trace the Stallings branch, but have hit a brick wall on John P. Philips. I'm hoping you have more on the Philips branch. Happy to share what I have. Wanda msg Wanda received from Charlotte Feb "98: "I have a Jacob Toliver born July 26, 1799 in Ashe Co. NC who married a Susan Isom. He is the son of Jesse Toliver and Frankey Stamper. I don't have his death date. Is this what you have? 1. [ILCLAY-L] Need a LARGE 1895 Illinois county map (in color)???
    2. Ted Cash
    3. Our state co-ordinator, Susan Tortorelli, has scanned in every Illinois county (as it existed in 1875) and uploaded them for an upcoming project "The United States Digital Map Project". Not all of the links are working yet, but if you want a LARGE map of any county in Illinois click on the following address: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/maps/illinois/il1875/ and then pick (from a long list) which county (or part of Chicago) you want, but BE WARNED --- these files are large (from 130KB to over 1 MB). These maps show the county, each township, and each mile within each township, roads, and towns as they existed in 1875. If you just want a copy of our county, go to our website, click on "Maps", and you'll find a link to the new LARGE map. If you want to look at the new project (I don't believe it's been announced yet) go to: http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/maps/ NOTE: I have also posted a note on the welcome page of our website letting you know that I'll be gone most of the month of June, so please be patient if you send me any mail -- after June 5th I won't be looking at it until early July. 1. [ILCLAY-L] Updates for Bond Co, Clay Co, & Will Co IL USGenWeb sites
    2. Ted Cash
    3. FYI - This message is being sent to all persons who have posted to, or are on the mailing list for Bond Co, Clay Co and Will Co, IL USGenWeb site. This message will serve a few purposes: 1) To let you know what's new on the county website. Since my last general message in December 1998, we have added the ability to input Family Group Sheets, Obituaries, and Tombstone Readings. There are new entries in each of these. Stop by and review what others have input -- who knows, it might be someone you are looking for. While you're there, input some information yourself, or post a new query for what you're looking for. If you have any questions about using these input forms, or suggestions for improving them, please let me know -- and I'll try to help. Also, Will Co has added complete listing for 2 cemeteries: St. Patrick's Cemetery and Zarley Cemetery, both in Joliet. 2) It's also time to check for all valid e-mail addresses. After sending this message (no need to reply), I will know whether or not your e-mail address is still functional. I will delete all posted messages that do not have a valid e-mail address. If your e-mail address does change, PLEASE send me a note with your old and new e-mail address, so I can update the website. 3) Volunteers Needed!! If you have any type of research material about the county, and would be willing to do lookups for others, please let me know. We always need more volunteers, especially with new material. If you need help, stop by the "Lookups" page and see if someone else is offering to do lookups. Remember that these people are not there to do YOUR research, but are willing to look up specific items -- don't forget to THANK THEM for their time, whether or not it was of any help.
