Stephen B. Bilyeu married Nancy Workman and had five children and all lived in the county. Stephen was the son of George and Elizabeth (Workman) Bilyeu who resided in the county. George was the son of Peter and Dianna (Blackwell) Bilyeu who had another son, John Bilyeu who married Elizabeth Workman in Tennessee. John and Elizabeth Bilyeu came to Sangamon County, raised a large family, moved to the county and died there in 1867. John and Elizabeth (Workman) Bilyeu had a son, Isaac Bilyeu who married Effadilla Workman in the county. Isaac and Effadilla Bilyeu had nine children (eight girls and one boy). Reagene "Rena" born in 1878 in the county was a daughter of Isaac and Effadilla Bilyeu. Infromation was received from Alan D. Bilyeu, a descendant of Jacob Bilyeu, a brother of Stephen B.
