Hi Lura, I noticed that you did a look-up in the 1865 IL state census. I wondered if you would be willing to do the same for me? I have located my g-g-grandfather, Simeon HELMS, in the 1870 and 1880 census in Taylorville, Christian County, but I can't locate him in 1860 the federal census for either IL or his place of birth, Ohio. His family would have consisted of an adult male 30 to 40, an female 20 to 30, and two female children under age 10. I would like to see if I can push his residency in IL back another 5 years.
