Searching for Mabel Clare ANDREWS (b. Nov 1875 in IL) who in the 1900 census was listed with her father in Bement, Piatt County as a student. Also searching for her sister Gertrude A. ANDREWS (b.March 1880 in IL) who is also a student in 1900 listed as living with her father. Their father died between this census and the next and they seem to disappear. Their father is Charles Henry ANDREWS (b. 8 Mar 1846 in NY, d. 22 April 1903 in IL). We know he was a school teacher and they spent many years in Christian County, IL before moving to Piatt Cty. His first wife and the girls' mother was Clarinda GRIFFITH (b. 1853 in IL, d. 1886). We don't know anything more about her. His second wife was Mary Carpenter (b. August 1846 in CT). This was a second marriage for both. She disappears in the 1910 census as well. The family was part of the Seventh Day Baptist Church. We suspect that the girls were attending Milton College in Wisconsin, but have been unable to confirm that. Any help in finding out what happened to them or other evidence of their lives would be much appreciated. Beth Katona Andrews
