The county clerk office is 217-824-4969. There is a local library that would handle the newspapers and also the Breeze-Couier Newspaper who might records back that far. I'm not sure abt it. The library should thou. I think its a block off of the square. It used to be anyway. Its been abt 20 some yrs since I lived back there. I hope that this helps you some.
