Is there a death index for Christian County for the 1870's? I am trying to find Peter GEHM's death date. He was alive in 1870, but his wife was a widow in the 1880 census taken on 11 Jun 1880. Dale

I would suggest checking for an estate or probate packet. Death records, as such,weren't kept in the time frame you're interested in. Land records were though, and if he owned property his death date should show up there. Good luck, Elizabeth
