    1. [ILCHRIST] ZIMMERMAN - Christian County
    2. ok...here is a posting. I am looking for the brothers and sisters of my great great grandmother, ROSANNA ZIMMERMAN FATZER who was raised, married and give birth to her four children in Christian County before moving with her husband to Kansas. This is what I know: Her parents are CHRISTIAN and ANNA (STRITES or STRITZ) ZIMMERMAN. They were both born in Switzerland...in the early 1800s...moved to Taylorville, Illinois around 1830. Both are buried in Pratt County...Prattsburg, Cemetery...if anyone on that end could supply their b/d dates, I would appreciate having them. Christian and Anna had "many children"...a significant number of daughters in relation to sons, so the story goes. One of their daughters, ROSANNA ZIMMERMAN (the only one of the siblings I know anything about), was born about 1850. ROSANNA married JOHN JACOB FATZER who was born in Switzerland in 1841. He emigrated to Alton, Illinois about 1853 with his parents. After completing his service with the Union Army (Engineer in the 1st Division, 14th Army Corp, Co. A of the Cumberland Army serving under General Sherman), John Jacob settled in Taylorville and lived there up till about 1880. He married ROSANNA about 1869. According to my records, all four of their children (3 daughters and one son) were born in Taylorville....including my great grandmother, LOUISA who was born on April 5, 1873. In about 1880, John Jacob, Rosanna and their four children moved to Kansas...apparently never returned to Christian County...all ties with ROSANNA's siblings ceased. Again, I am looking for the brothers and sisters of ROSANNA ZIMMERMAN (I know who Louisa's sisters and one brother are). Thanks, in advance for any facts, suggestions and clues.
